Third-party or comprehensive motor insurance: what changes?
Third-party motor insurance addresses specified legal liability to others. It does not automatically pay to repair your own vehicle. Comprehensive cover can add protection for damage to your vehicle from events listed in the policy, but it still has limits, an excess and exclusions.
If losing your car would create a serious financial problem, ask for both quotations. Compare the insured value, windscreen provisions, theft terms, excess, permitted drivers and claims process. Do not assume every comprehensive quotation includes the same benefits.
Dominica's Motor Vehicles Insurance (Third-Party Risks) Act, section 3, requires qualifying third-party cover for a person using a motor vehicle on a public road. The policy must cover the particular use and driver. Next step: Review types of motor insurance and call +1 (767) 235-8294.
